PIZZA WITH THE PASTORS - young+single+adult

• Are you beyond High School?
• Are you unmarried?
• Are you not old? (less than 35)

Then, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!

An invited gathering of young adults, hosted by the Pastors of McKenzie Bible Fellowship

I would like to pick your brain in an open and candid conversation about issues of life and faith for young adults in today’s contemporary culture. I wish to hear your honest convictions about today’s church, your perception of Jesus, the Christian faith and your own personal beliefs. Nothing you wish to say will be held against you, either in a court of law or here. Your feelings and thoughts will not be forwarded to your parents, your peers, or your parole officer, and any honest skepticism regarding faith issues will be honored. I want a context where individuals can speak freely and honestly about their understanding and beliefs regarding Christianity.

The following questions will give you an idea of the kinds of things we wish to hear.

• How have your beliefs changed from what you learned in your pre-adult years
• Has that which you believed when attending church through high school changed over the years.

• Have the beliefs your parents or pastor passed on to you become your own? Have you adapted them, adjusted them, or discarded them because they no longer seem true?

• What kinds of challenges has the adult world brought to your personal beliefs?
• What are some of the unanswered questions regarding faith and belief

• How would you change the current church structure, services, or programs so that it more effectively developed your faith?

• What do you see to be some of the weaknesses, flaws, and failures of contemporary Christianity?

• When leaving home, what areas of life do you feel your parents, pastors, etc… failed to adequately prepare you?

I do not intend to provide answers to your questions, to challenge your beliefs, or persuade you to be right like me. I just want to hear what your heart is saying. Addressing issues can come at another time.

This is your opportunity for you to speak and the pastor has to sit and listen. There will be no Bible study or sermon, no offering will be taken, no clipboards will be passed around. I promise not to spam you. I wish for the discussion to be yours. Attendance at McKenzie Bible Fellowship is not a requirement to participate.

Consider this your ministry to us. Dean and I will provide pizza and beverages.

Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. on August 1st.

Is My Bible the Same as the Original Bible?

On June 27th at 5:00 we will have a video presentation by Dr. Daniel Wallace of the Institute for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts. Dr. Wallace will be provide information on how our current New Testament documents were gathered from individual manuscripts and fragments. He will address the charge that the New Testament we possess today has been corrupted by centuries of copying and copiest errors, so that the New Testament today bears little resemblance to the original.

This presentation will be one of a number we will have on Sunday evenings through the summer months.

Noah's Ark Found? (Again?)

News reports of Noah's ark being discovered (again) -- Don't easily fall for these kinds of sensational claims, until they have been adequately examined by Biblical archaeologists and experts in the field. The uncritical acceptance of these kinds of claims often results in Christians looking foolish and damaging a genuine testimony for Jesus.
